Using BIM 360 TEAM with linked Models & Sheets

One of the big advantages of using Autodesk BIM 360 TEAM  is that you can import your models be they Work In Progress (WIP) or for Construction (Published)

The uploading of the Models to the interface can enable:

  • Model viewing on ANY mobile device
  • Sheet viewing on ANY mobile device
  • No need for Revit licence to view 3D elements
  • ANY file format can be uploaded
  • Markups & Comments placed in 3D & 2D
  • No need to PDF print sheets etc.
  • Next upload will indicate changes.
  • Much Much More…….

When working within the Revit environment with linked models and you upload your model to the interface all 3D views and sheets will only display your content.

This does not represent your intended views and sheets

To rectify this the best approach is to ensure you have your linked in models i.e. arch, struct, MEP, landscape etc, all within the same folder on your server.

Next step for the upload process is to log onto your BIM 360 Team account and navigate to your required project.

In the window click on Upload, BUT instead of clicking on File click on Assembly.

Browse to the folder where the models are located and click ok.

Once OK is clicked you need to identify YOUR model from the linked files and click Upload.

This will only upload YOUR models but will have all associated linked models as part of the file, so all 3D views and Sheets will be as required, and the correct information will be available to any participant.
